Stocks End Week on Dour Note on Greek Uncertainty
Hershey (HSY) was among the worst performers on the S&P 500 Friday after the chocolate company reduced its 2015 forecast on weakened growth in China. Greece soured market sentiment as stocks closed lower for the day. Benchmark indexes netted weekly gains, though, after the Federal Reserve showed its dovish side and kept rates unchanged. Crude oil closed with daily and weekly losses as the safe-haven U.S. dollar moved higher against international currencies. The energy sector was among the worst performers on markets Friday. ConAgra (CAG) topped the S&P 500 after activist investor Jana Partners took an interest in the company and called for a change in its board.
